This one-day seminar gives utility professionals a look at how the electric grid works. The hands-on, interactive experience lets participants experience the challenges of running the electricity grid.

During the session, we cover:

• How the system operator balances consumer demand with generation from local sources and from the neighbors
• Power generation—how it works, where it resides, and the challenges of getting it to the consumer 
• Customer load issues such as line overloads and voltage problems

Using a simulator that mimics an actual electricity grid, participants are given the opportunity to locate, respond to, and prevent trouble.

After completing this session, participants will have a true insider’s understanding of how the electric grid works!
